Over the years, Mr. Platte has represented several financial istitutions and real estate developers in the Tampa Bay area, including United States Steel Corporation with its condominium developments on the Gulf of Mexico and at the Belleair Country Club.
Mr. Platte has represented large industrial park developers in Tampa, developers of regional malls, performing art centers, professional office complexes, mobile home parks, strip malls, residential subdivisions, townhouses and condominium projects.
Mr. Platte works closely with Fidelity National Title Insurance on residential and commercial closings.

Mr. Platte forms, represents, and negotiates contracts concerning corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and partnerships.
These include preparing the initial organizational documents, operating agreements, shareholder agreements, by-laws, minutes, stock certificates, employment agreements, non-compete agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
Mr. Platte was first certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Court Mediator in 1992. Mr. Platte has mediated cases in both State and Federal Courts in the Tampa Bay area. The majority of cases Mr. Platte has mediated have involved business, commercial and real estate disputes.
These disputes have included breach of contract actions, employment agreements, non-competition agreements, resolution of foreclosures, modification and forebearance agreements, complex business dissolutions, aquisitions & mergers and complex real estate contractual disputes.
ABOUT DAVID E. PLATTE
David was born and raised in the small, rural town of Waverly, Iowa. In 1972, he graduated summa cum laude from Wartburg College with a B.A. Degree in Economics. Playing collegiate basketball, David was twice named First Team Academic All-American. At the conclusion of his senior year, David was one of only five college division basketball players selected to receive a post graduate scholorship from the NCAA, which he used to attend law school at the University of Florida.
David graduated with Honors from University of Florida's Levin College of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1975.
David has also been published in the Florida Bar Journal, "The Forged or Unauthorized Endorsement of Checks Under Articles III and IV of the Uniform Commercial Code".
David currently practices law in Florida and Iowa.
